Recreation and Social Connection Hubs

Our Social Connection Hubs help you to be healthy, active and enjoy life to the full in a friendly and relaxing environment.

About our hubs

We encourage members to pursue their interests and passions, both at our centre and out in the community. We organise regular group excursions via our bus to restaurants, shops, the beach, festivals and other attractions.

From our own kitchen we serve breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea each day. The kitchen is also the home base for our cooking groups, where members learn to prepare tasty, nutritious and low-cost meals.

The many other activities our members can get involved in include:

  • gardening
  • painting classes
  • computer training
  • sewing group
  • table tennis
  • pool
  • exercise sessions; and
  • dance classes.

We also celebrate many festivals and other events throughout the year, including Christmas, the lunar New Year, Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, Reconciliation Week and the AFL Grand Final.

Where to find our hubs

Our Recreation and Social Connection Hubs are located in:

  • Fitzroy – 67 Brunswick Street

Maria, In-home support client

GREAT FEEDBACK WE GET

‘I owe a lot to Alice (Client Advisor) She suggests things such as the Singing for Wellness program and I always say no at first. Then I think on it and realise that she is right, it is good for me to have a break too. I’m a juggler you see, I juggle caring for husband, the gardening, my handcrafted rug and seeing my friends. These lessons make me appreciate my free time’

Alison, In-home support client and carer
