Our secure and affordable Independent Living Units in Fitzroy allow older people on low income to live independently, while enjoying an inner Melbourne location close to shops, parks, services and public transport.

Please note, some of our independent living units are located upstairs without disability access.

Our secure-tenure units are at three convenient locations in Fitzroy:

Millott House, 116 Fitzroy Street

Nine furnished bedsitters, each with an en suite and kitchenette, and a shared laundry.

Sidney Myer House, 116 Fitzroy Street

Fifteen furnished bedsitters, each with an en suite, a shared kitchen, laundry and spacious common living room.

Palmer Street, 74 Palmer Street

Ten unfurnished one-bedroom flats, fully self-contained.

All units are rented at a low cost. The exact amount depends on an individual assessment. 

People eligible for supported living accommodation:

  • must be over the age of 55 years
  • in receipt of a disability or aged care pension
  • have no more than $30,000 worth of assets
  • have not owned a house in two years
  • require support to maintain living in the community.

Priority will be given to people eligible for a home care package.
