Sumner House offers quality care and friendship in a warm and welcoming environment.
Centrally located in Fitzroy, inner Melbourne, the residence is close to shops and public transport, while the gardens and park at the Royal Exhibition Building are just around the corner.
Here, we work with you to tailor a plan to suit your individual preferences and circumstances. Together, we will review your plan on a regular basis to ensure it continues to meet your needs.
Choose from a wide range of activities from our lifestyle program including:
- painting and handcrafts
- an iPad training group,
- visits by school groups.
Our staff also assist you to continue the interests and activities you enjoyed before moving into Sumner House and to maintain your connections with the community.
- relax outside in the tranquil landscaped courtyard
- visit nearby parks and gardens.
Our 43 large individual bedrooms all have en suite bathrooms, televisions, phone connection and wireless internet access. Each cluster of bedrooms has its own lounge-dining room with kitchenette.
Meals, served in the central dining room, are cooked in our own kitchen. Sumner House also offers a hairdressing salon with visiting hairdresser, and an activities room.
If, over time, you require more involved care, we provide a range of further services so that you can avoid the disruption of moving again. We have nursing staff present around the clock, visiting doctors and other health practitioners including physiotherapists, podiatrists, dietitians and psychologists. We also provide specialised care and tailored activities for residents with dementia.
